The title of this post might sound a little vague and you may think, "okay Agatha, boots were always in, what other choice do we have in the winter?". But it isn't just any kind of boots, what I have been noticing with bloggers and runway and street styling is that everyone is hopping on the knee high boots band wagon. Now,personally, I have really thick legs and calves and i hate the feeling of constriction around my legs and ankles. I have tried on a couple boots this past season but i can never find a good one for my legs (that actually close and isn't tight), but i am willing to keep looking. I refuse to give up! People are using boots with everything, even skirts that meet the boots on the knees. This can be tricky for short girls, like me, to pull off. The boots being knee high and the skirt meeting the boots gives no leg room, which can make you look shorter & stumpy. So be careful while attempting this look! Here's some inspo:

Last week me and Weuler took a spontaneous trip to Cancun. Literally, we bought the tickets about 4 weeks before. Being at a tropical place, I usually get really lazy to "dress-up" and put makeup on. All i want is to be chillen' with no makeup on, no hair did, no dress up, just laying by the beach all day. But, i did get some days where I had a little more spare time to get together a little. One of the days we took a stroll down to Cancun center, not the downtown, but the "tourist" shopping plazas and I guess you can call boardwalk. I wore a cute little striped dress i got at Old navy( amazing for basic essentials pieces), and my converse. It was very windy so I took my jean jacket with me because to be honest, i am ALWAYS cold. Now about the converse, these shoes were NOT made for walking, my feet was so sore and hurting. Is it just me, or does that happen to you too? Anyways, here is the ootd:
IDK why I was mean mugging here, but i was. Oops? lol, i put on 'flat out fabulous' lipstick by MAC for a pop of color on this casual but chic look.
I will make a post soon with some trip advice and pictures of places I visited, and Hotel recommendations, etc. I have one more ootd post and i will soon after do the All about Cancun post.

Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it's how people dress in their days off that is THE MOST INTRIGUING. --Alexander Wang
To have style and good outfits you don't need to have expensive brands and over the top priced clothes. It is all about the basics. The basics are articles of clothing every woman needs to have in their wardrobe, the essentials. The basic pieces will make your lives so much easier, and it is pieces that you can basically make tons, and tons of different looks with because they go with EVERYTHING! What are they? Well, here is my list of essential basics that every woman needs to have at least one of:
The boyfriend blazer. These blazers usually run longer than regular blazers, right over the bum or past it. They look absolutely amazing with anything and everything. Throw it on with jeans, shorts, a dress, a skirt, you name it, it's possible! I like to buy the ones with the inner lining in a different color or pattern so i can fold the sleeves. Wear it with jeans and heels for a more chic look, or wear it with jeans and sneakers to make it a more casual day. Pencil skirt and a blazer for a business occasion, the possibilities are endless. The beauty of this is that it can dress up or dress down anyway you want.
I LOVE THE TRENCH! It all started with the classic Burberry trench coat. It's so elegant and chic but so relaxed at the same time. The khaki color is a neutral so this coat can go on with anything as well. This isn't a winter coat, because it won't keep you warm, but in the spring this is amazing for rainy days or those breezy spring days. I don't recommend closing it all the way like this picture, unless you wear it as a dress, because you still want to show the outfit underneath. If you do close it, never buckle it, always just tie it for that edgy look.

The plain white or black tee. You don't even need a picture because it is self explanatory what it is and what it looks like. I am sure majority have one already. A basic white or black tee are essential for the days you literally want no attention to the clothes and you want to mute out your top for a statement somewhere else (i.e shoes, bag, pants, jacket, makeup, or jewelry). These are also amazing for those laid back "i don't want to put anything and no effort" days, throw it on with whatever and you are out the door. I like the loose ones, it makes me more comfortable. You can find them anywhere for cheap too, and make sure it is good material.
The "perfect" Jeans. Despite the fact that there are a bagillion colors for jeans, everyone has their favorite jeans. These are the jeans that when you can't find anything, they are the ones you first think of to put on when you are rushing out the door. They match with anything and everything, and to you, they fit your body so right and they are so comfortable! THOSE are your perfect, essential, basic jeans.
LBD. The classic "little black dress". Thanks to our friend CoCo Chanel and Audrey Hepburn, this became a "thing". The timeless LBD is that dress that no matter the occasion, the dress is acceptable. Wedding? YES! Cocktail party? YES! Date? YES! Exhibit? YES! Those times you don't even know what the dress code is or what is acceptable but you can NEVER go wrong with the LBD! Everyone needs one. Find it anywhere, any store, most likely always has it any season as well.
The leather Jacket. The leather jacket isn't only for "bikers and rockers". The leather jacket had come back with a bang. Any style you can possibly imagine, they have it. All depends on your budget! This piece can go on to bring edge to any outfit you want. Jeans, white shirt, leather jacket and sneakers for the morning, and at night switch it to heels and you ready for a GNO. Wear it with a dress, shorts, skirt, really any of these pieces have endless possibilities. It is an amazing statement piece and lately they have been coming out with any color, but make sure you always have a black on at hand, because those especially go with everything.

This is all my preference in what I like, the color I like, and style. Customize it to how you like and what fits your sense of style better. There are way more "basics" that i can add such as black pumps, nude pumps, the white buttoned down shirt, a navy sweater, a tank top, a grey winter coat, etc. But maybe ill do a Back to Basics pt. 2 later on, because this is already too long. For now this is all and hope it helped you in some way.
