SPRING has finally sprung! I try not to wear too many dark colors during the spring, I want to brighten up my day and I love incorporating color into my looks for that. This yellow trench screams spring for sure. I found this at a NYC forever 21 when i went in April for IMATS. It is a mustard yellow color and I have been obsessed with this shade of yellow since last season. To be honest, yellow is very in right now, I have visited some stores on Newbury street, and i see so much yellow. Makes me excited. :) These PERFECT pumps are an awesome dupe for the Loboutins pigalle. (Walk around the house first, you might want to get used to them first. 4.5 inch heels are no joke). And the bucket bag makes an appearance again. I love this bag, I can't wait to get another one.

Finally, an OOTD. I have so many cute spring ideas coming up. I recently found an awesome leopard clutch for a bargain. I saw many bloggers with a leopard clutch, but God knows i wasn't about to pay what they paid for it. I was struggling to find one and finally, not even looking for it specifically, I went on MANGO online and found it. I LOVE IT. The only thing is, wearing white pants, some of the clutch's "dye" from the faux fur faded into the pants, but comes right off in the wash. You all know i love an all white look.

Ladies! Welcome back to you and to me. I haven't updated the blog in so long I missed it so much but with work and school, I was exhausted but school is over now and I am ready for more posts. I was kind of in a rut for posts couple weeks back, and I didn't know what to write about. I was actually tweeting earlier today about shopping tips and I had an awesome idea of why not start a segment of tips and tricks for lifestyle, beauty, and yes fashion! So today I will list some of my tips for when we go shopping, or when we want to online shop.
I'm not sure if I am the only one but I have days where I go to the mall just to go, and usually those are the days I come out with nothing at hand because NOTHING looked good or I didn't find anything I wanted or that looked interesting to me. Then there are days I want to buy everything I see in front of me and i can't because i have a budget. Which brings me to my first tip:
1. HAVE A BUDGET BEFORE GOING SHOPPING
It is always a good idea to know how much you want to spend or have enough to spend. When you go aimlessly to the mall and just start swiping your cards, you will regret that later. Trust me, I always think "oh it's just $40", but little by little it adds up and you feel so bad after a days worth of shopping. Budgeting will also make sure you don't get in debts. We should spoil ourselves, but lets not forget we have priorities before pleasure. Bills before shoes, right?
2. ALWAYS CARRY CASH
I have witnessed this one too many times. Cash you have control over how much you are spending and how much you have left, with cards you wont see it. When I only take my cards with me, i check my statement late and I am like "OMG, WHAT DID I SPEND SO MUCH ON?" The fact that we have to log onto our bank accounts is already a hassle, cash flow is much easier to maintain on check for smart shopping. Controlling our money is 10 times easier when we can see our cash.
3. DON'T IMPULSE BUY
Ever go through your wardrobe or closet and say "Why did i buy this? When did i ever think I would wear this? IT STILL HAS A TAG!" Yes, we all have been there, done that. Impulse buying is probably the worst habit a woman can have. Sometimes I am scrolling through social media and I keep seeing the same item so many times, it's like it's taunting us and we feel like everyone but us has it. Which as women, we automatically feel obligated to get it. It has happened many many times with me. Solution? I like to keep browsing the internet for other stuff or I occupy with something else, couple days or weeks later if i still want it, i'll get it. But usually if it is an impulse buy, I change my mind after some days about getting it. Most of the time, if it's a very expensive something, I will keep putting it off until prices go down or until i find a knockoff/similar for less. You don't need to splurge to look good.
4. IF IT'S NOT YOU, DON'T GET IT!
I have to really emphasize this one. If it isn't your "style" or doesn't fit who you are as a person i guarantee you, you won't wear it! I already mentioned, basic essential are always good to buy. Pieces you know will never go out of style or that can go with everything or that you can wear with different things and make all your outfits look completely different from each other. Trending things tend to get people hyped and spending on things they normally wouldn't look twice at if fashionistas weren't using them all over the world. That can be dangerous. I put trending pieces up here on my blog in hopes to inspire you guys to incorporate into your own personal style, not to tell you that you all need it ASAP! Think before you buy it, ask yourself questions: Will i use this often? Is this really me? Do i actually like this? Do i need this? Etc.
5. SHOP ALONE
I love my friends, honestly I do, but sometimes they can be bad influences at the mall, HAHA! I love shopping alone when I am shopping for myself. If I am just hanging out at the mall or helping somebody, then I will tag along, but 95% of the time I am alone at the mall. WHY? For one thing, I hate keeping people waiting for me to decide because I like to take my time to browse, and second because friends will always say "OMG SO CUTE GET IT, YOU DEFINITELY NEED IT!" even if you don't need it. You know how girls work, don't lie. Sure shopping is fun with your girls, but it costs you a whole lot more. For example, if i see something cute they picked, I'll automatically think " wow so cute i'm grabbing one too." Your bill just doubled at the register. On another side, I don't like shopping with my husband for myself, only for him, because he makes me feel bad about shopping with all his questions and restricting me on spending, "Do you need that? Don't you have something like that? OMG another one? Why you need more shoes, you only have two feet."
I am not saying this will work for everyone, but it helps me and these are my personal tips and tricks on how to smart shop. I have many more, but this is a good start. If you try it or do any of these let me know. What are some of your tips? Hope you enjoyed!
